APPOINTMENT AS SHADOW MINISTER FOR DEFENCE INDUSTRY AND DEFENCE PERSONNEL

I am honoured to be appointed Shadow Minister for Defence Industry and Defence Personnel, along with my ongoing responsibilities as Shadow Minister for Defence.

Luke Howarth has done a superb job serving in these portfolios, and I wish him the best in his new role.

We have work to do.

The Prime Minister and his part-time Defence Minister are weak on defence and national security.

Mr Albanese’s absentee Defence Industry Minister is missing in action, neglecting Australian defence industry and our manufacturing base right at the moment that we need leadership and energy.

The Albanese defence ministry is on notice. My Shadow Assistant Minister, Phil Thompson OAM MP, is ready to go. We’re on the hunt.

We will hold this weak Albanese Government to account and restore confidence in defence industry, and the Australian Defence Force.
