You are invited to a special, one night only event with 2020 Senior Australian of the Year, Professor John Newnham AM.
Professor Newnham is one of the world’s preeminent authorities in the prevention of preterm birth – the leading cause of death and disability in children up to five years of age.
A Professor of Obstetrics, John pioneered an initiative which resulted in an 8% reduction in premature births across WA. His work is now being rolled out across the country.
Earlier this year the Commonwealth Government invested $13.7 million to bolster the work led by Professor Newnham with the Women and Infants Research Foundation and the Australian Preterm Birth Prevention Alliance.
Professor Newnham will join me for a community lecture about his work at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday 3 November from 6.30pm.
Please note: this event will not be streamed virtually.
Entry is free and open to everyone. However, seats are limited so bookings are essential.
I hope you can join us.
