Mandurah Skate Park Now Open
Posted on Latest News by Andrew Hastie · December 17, 2020 10:31 AMThe City Centre’s brand new Mandurah Skate Park was officially opened this week as part of the $22 million Mandurah Waterfront Project..
The newly completed skate park, taking pride of place on the Western Foreshore, is the first stage of the Project, which is set to deliver a new and improved foreshore for people to meet, play and enjoy.
Designed and constructed by Convic Designs, the Mandurah Skate Park includes three skate zones for different skill levels, including a competition bowl area, for skaters, BMX, and scooter riders. There will also be power provisions at the site for events and competitions.
The park features social and leisure areas including grassed areas, elevated spectator seating with shelters, lighting, drinking fountains, a basketball half-court, and pedestrian connections to the wider area.
Federal Member for Canning Andrew Hastie welcomed the opening of the new skate park as part of a wider project to boost tourism and engagement in Mandurah.
“The Morrison Government is a proud supporter of the Mandurah Waterfront Project, not just because of the benefit this development gives local families, but for the added incentive it provides Mandurah for tourism,” Mr Hastie said
“As Australia emerges out of the pandemic it’s vital we do everything we can to support local jobs and businesses. The Waterfront Project—including the new Skate Park—helps Mandurah put itself forward as an exciting tourist destination,” Mr Hastie said.
