Petition: Support Our Local ADF Cadets

Empowering the youth of Australia means supporting avenues for leadership, service and resilience.

In 2022, I fought hard to secure $3.67 million of Federal Government funding to build a cutting-edge facility for our local ADF cadets.

This wasn't just a financial investment—it was an investment in the future of young Australians.

It is a priority for me, and it should also be a priority for the Albanese Government.

Instead, the Government has scrapped more than $1 billion of funding which the former Coalition Government set aside to upgrade 73 ADF Reserve and Cadet facilities across Australia.

With this decision, they also canned plans for the new facility right here in Mandurah, which would have provided them a base to support their program.

Our cadets deserve a Government that recognises and fully supports their commitment to service our nation.

If you agree, sign the petition below to show your support for our local cadets.

Cadets are a vital part of Defence's contribution to building Australia's future leaders.

The Peel Region is home to more than 100 local cadets across the three services: Army, Navy and Air Force.

We need more of them.

And the Albanese Government needs to support them to learn and grow so they are ready to serve Australia in the years ahead.

I’m calling on Labor to explain why they have cut $1 billion of investment and immediately reinstate funding to cadets in Canning, and across Australia.

Will you sign?
