New Facilities for Salvado Catholic College

Staff and students at Salvado Catholic College in Byford will benefit from the construction of a new food technology centre, student services hub and other facilities, funded under the Morrison Government’s Capital Grants Program.

Federal Member for Canning Andrew Hastie said the Australian Government would provide $1,306,000 to build a food technology centre that will include two teaching kitchens and a preparation room, dry store and cool room, as well as a fashion and textile studio and design studio.

The project will also deliver new office and storage space, an electricity and communications room, and support the extension of the administration building to be used as a student services centre.

“As one of the newest Catholic colleges in Western Australia, Salvado offers a greater choice of quality education to families living in Byford,” Mr Hastie said.

“Our government is ensuring that every child gets a high-quality education no matter where they go to school. Salvado Catholic College has a strong school community that will reap the benefits of an enhanced learning environment.”

“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities. The Morrison Government’s Capital Grants Program has helped thousands of schools across the nation to build new and updated infrastructure.

“I congratulate Salvado Catholic College on their successful grant application and look forward to seeing the positive impact these new facilities will have on the school community.”
