$850,000 COMMITMENT TO REVITALISE NORTH PINJARRA COMMUNITY SPACES

Federal Member for Canning Andrew Hastie has announced a $850,000 election commitment to support the Shire of Murray in delivering major upgrades to community facilities in North Pinjarra.

The project will transform underused and ageing facilities into a vibrant, welcoming space for local families, young people, and community groups.

“This is a growing area, and locals deserve great community spaces,” Mr Hastie said.

“Right now, the facilities in North Pinjarra are tired and underutilised. With the right investment, we can create a space that brings people together—somewhere that’s safe, fun, and supports an active lifestyle for all ages.”

The $850,000 commitment will help the Shire of Murray deliver key upgrades to the precinct, including resurfaced multi-use courts, new play areas, improved public open space, including BBQ’s and picnic areas as well as additional green space for recreation.

Mr Hastie emphasised that the project represented more than just physical improvements.

"Communities need places to gather, connect, and create memories together," he said. "These facilities will support everything from kids' birthday parties to community sporting competitions, cultural events, and seniors' activities."

Shire of Murray President Douglas McLarty said "the Shire welcomes investment that improves the quality of life for our residents. The funding will go a long way to bringing vibrancy and active spaces for our residents in North Pinjarra".

Mr Hastie said he was proud to work with the Shire to make the project a reality.

"This is about backing our local community and investing in its future," he said. "A Dutton-led Coalition government will make sure we get this done."

The North Pinjarra Revitalisation Plan is part of the Coalition's broader commitment to investing in regional infrastructure and building strong and sustainable communities.
