Funding Delivered for Roleystone Theatre

The Roleystone Theatre has received a $4,030 grant under the Federal Government’s 2019-20 Volunteer Grants Program.

The Theatre used the funding to purchase a wheeled lighting truss stand and box truss to improve stage lighting for their community theatre productions.

Federal Member for Canning Andrew Hastie said the Roleystone Theatre was an important local institution that had been entertaining the community for 87 years.

“The Roleystone Theatre is made up entirely of volunteers and is a hub for performing arts in the Perth Hills.”

“The Theatre makes an important contribution to the cultural life of the region.”

“I’m pleased their work is being recognised and supported through the Morrison Government’s Volunteer Grants Program.”

Theatre President Bree Hartley explained that the group is currently operating out of a multipurpose hall, which doesn’t have the technical set up for productions. The new lighting equipment will be easier and safer for volunteers to use and will improve production quality.
