The evil act of violence resulting in the tragic murder of Dominic O’Brien was preventable.

Why was the assailant let loose on our streets?

Why wasn’t a preventative detention order used to lock him up?

This is an epic failure by the Albanese government, even after the Parliament passed special detention powers to prevent this exact scenario.

The Home Affairs Minister needs to act and fast.

Has he got a list of high risk offenders who should be detained and monitored?

Has he asked for a list from the Department? If not, why not?
