$500,000 FOR SINGLETON FORESHORE RESERVE UPGRADE
14 March 2025
Federal Member for Canning Andrew Hastie MP has announced that an elected Liberal Government will deliver $500,000 in federal funding to upgrade the Singleton Foreshore Reserve, delivering a major boost to one of the community’s most popular recreation spaces.
The project will modernise the foreshore’s ageing facilities to provide better amenities and a more functional space for the growing community to enjoy.
Mr Hastie said the investment will significantly improve the foreshore’s amenities, making it a better experience for local families and visitors.
“As our community continues to grow, it’s important that our local facilities keep up with demand—the foreshore is a much-loved space, but it’s clear the amenities are no longer meeting the needs of the community,” Mr Hastie said.
“I’m pleased that an elected Liberal Government will invest in this upgrade to give locals the modern and accessible space they deserve.”
The upgrade will include new play equipment, additional picnic nodes, improved pathway connections and upgrades to the toilets and shelters.
With the recent redistribution of electorate boundaries by the Australian Electoral Commission, Singleton is now located in the Canning electorate.
Mr Hastie said Singleton has been overlooked for far too long under Labor representation.
"Singleton has only ever been represented by Labor members, and the community has been left behind. As your new local member, I’m focused on delivering real and tangible results for Singleton," Mr Hastie said.
"This upgrade will provide families with a refreshed, more enjoyable space to gather — making Singleton an even better place for families to enjoy."
